BILL To be entitled An Act for the relief of disbursing officers and other agents of the Government in certain cases. 1 Section 1. The Congress of the Con federate Stales of 2 America do enact, That the Secretary of the Treasury 3 be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed, , upon 4 satisfactory proof being adduced to him, that any money, 5 bonds, Treasury notes, or other funds, have been de- 6 stroyecl by any disbursing officer or other agent of the 7 Government, and that such destruction was necessary to 8 prevent such money or funds from falling into the hands 0 of the enemy, to credit such disbursing officer or agent 10 with the amount thereof in the settlement of his accounts 11 with the Government. ■ pemrulife* PH8.5
